In the Hawaiian islands, Maui has an amazing amount of underwater life and diving in it’s Pacific cool waters is always a privilege! It is a divers paradise all year round! We weren’t fortunate enough to see the mantas on our Big Island trip… I guess we’ll just have to go again!

Highlights: night dive on the Big Island, finding new nudibranchs for me, diving in Hana, enjoying excellent diving conditions.

Dive sites: Makena landing, Mala Ramp, Black Rock, Ukumehame, Hana, and Mauna Kea on the Big Island of Hawaii.

Best for viewing: Turtles, butterflyfish, white tip reef sharks, eels, and nudibranchs! Cool critters we found this time were the mating Imperial nudibranchs, the Gold Lace nudibranch, slipper lobsters and Tiger Cowrys.
